POSTER EXHIBITION at IPTS corridors
We are pleased to announce that
in the framework of the events organised during the semester of the Greek
presidency of the European Commission, 36 posters by the National Gallery of Greece with works of Greek painters
will be displayed throughout IPTS. Although this mini exhibition could not be
fully representative, it aims to present certain aspects of the Greek mentality
and the Greek drama: comedy or tragedy or both. The exhibits include paintings
of some of the most important Greek artists of the 19th and 20th centuries,
plus some less-known artists, offering a selective, if not panoramic, spectrum
of modern and contemporary art. As Greece has unhappily been at
the centre of global interest for the last years, comparing its image in its
synchronicity and diachronicity can offer a wider scope. A European one.
